Description: Inscribed and signed by Nixon: "For Webster Todd With best wishes from Dick Nixon." An uncommonly good association copy of a book often found inscribed. Webster Todd was a prominent American businessman, a Republican Party leader in New Jersey, and the father of New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman. Condition: Near Fine

Description: Doubleday & Co. New York. 1962. 460 pages. First edition stated, first printing. Book's only flaw is light toning to endpapers and an old bookseller stamp on front pastedown hidden underneath the front DJ flap. Signed by Richard Nixon on a publisher's tipped in page using an autopen. Autopens are not pre-printed signatures as each and every page is individually signed, however they are mechanically enhanced. Essentially it is one degree off of a pre-printed signature. This title is notorious for autopen signatures. Original DJ with $5.95 price intact on flap. Bright and attractive DJ shows rubbing and one small chip on lower front corner. A VG DJ housing a near fine book. Signed with autopen; first edition, first printing.

Description: First Edition - Presentation Copy from President Richard Nixon to the President of The Southern California Edison Company NIXON, Richard M. Six Crises. Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1962. Inscribed by Richard Nixon to American Conservative Businessman William Clinton Mullendore. First edition. Octavo (9 3/16 x 6 1/8 inches; 234 x 155 mm.). [xvi], [1]-460 pp. Many of the first seventy pages with underlining in blue ink. Publisher's gray cloth over boards, front cover and spine blocked in blue and lettered in gilt. Inscribed on front free endpaper "To Bill Mullendore with best wishes from Dick Nixon". A near fine copy in a very good pictorial dust jacket, small closed tear and crease on back panel. Six Crises is the first book written by Richard Nixon, who later became the 37th president of the United States. Published in 1962, it recounts his role in six major political situations. Nixon wrote the book in response to John F. Kennedy's Pulitzer Prize-winning Profiles in Courage, which had greatly improved Kennedy's public image. Richard Milhous Nixon (1913-1994) was the 37th president of the United States, serving from 1969 to 1974. A lawyer and member of the Republican Party, he previously served as a representative and senator from California and was the 36th vice president from 1953 to 1961 under President Dwight D. Eisenhower. His five years in the White House saw reduction of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, détente with the Soviet Union and China, the Apollo 11 Moon landing, and the establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Nixon's second term ended early when he became the only U.S. president to resign from office, as a result of the Watergate scandal. William Clinton Mullendore (1892-1983) was the President of the Southern California Edison Company who opposed the New Deal coalition that dominated presidential elections into the 1960s and the opposing conservative coalition largely controlled Congress in domestic affairs from 1937 to 1964.
