Description: 4pp folio-size prospectus produced by The Golden Cockerel Press to promote their forthcoming book, illustrated in colour by Dorothea Braby. This prospectus contains a specimen page and an attractive full-page colour engraving taken from the book on the inside pages. Previously folded twice, now laid flat. Small dirt mark to lower fold on front cover. Dusty shadow to top margin on rear cover. Purple address stamp on rear cover from the Victoria Book Company, London SW1, who had taken over the distribution task for the book from original Sole Distributors.

Large format book beautifully laid out. No jacket; we believe none was issued. Other copies we have seen have a gilt medallion on the front cover; this copy does not. Book in Acceptable condition. Book shows signs of water damage throughout; however, for whatever reason, the book remains in acceptable condition and indeed the effect almost appears intentional, with watermarks encircling the pages in an acceptable pattern. Book still eminently readable and its beauty still intact. The cheapest copy available on the market due to its condition.
