Description: First edition, first impression; 500 copies printed. Near Fine: firmly bound in the original grey paper boards with buff linen spine, lettered in black to the upper board. A trace of toning to the spine; rubbed and worn to the paper covering at the very tips of the outer corners; some tanning to the free endpapers; pages uncut, as issued bright, crisp and clean. A handsome copy. All orders are sent very carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard.

Inscribed by the author on the second blank: ?Inscribed to Carroll Carstairs by W.B. Yeats Jan. 18, 1933.? Carstairs was an American poet and art dealer. The date is a couple of days after Yeats' farewell dinner on the occasion of his final tour of America and it may well have been inscribed then. One of 500 copies printed. Previous owner's tiny book label, otherwise a near fine copy in a slightly nicked and browned unprinted dust jacket. Miller 32. Wade 132.

Publisher's quarter buff linen cloth and gray paper-covered boards, lettered in black to front board, gray endpapers, edges untrimmed. A very good copy with some toning and wear to extremities, paper slightly rubbed away from the boards at the corners, front hinge starting, small sticker to rear free endpaper, tiny hole to second free leaf. Wade 132. Seven Poems and a Fragment is a collection of poetry by the Irish poet and playwright William Butler Yeats. It includes "All Soul's Night," "A Prayer for my Son," and "Thoughts Upon the Present State of the World," among others. Notably, the first edition was published by the Cuala Press, a private press owned by the author's sister, Elizabeth Yeats. Focused on providing employment opportunities for women in Ireland, the press produced fine limited editions of works by Irish authors.
