Description: This is the first illustrated edition of Winston Churchills only novel. Published in May 1908 in Newnes Sixpenny Novels series. Good+ condition with two plates and illustrated paper wraps. Wraps show signs of wear and age staining. Top wrap exhibits damage to lower fore edge and rear wrap has a 1cm closed tear to the edge. The text of the novel is complete but the final leaf of adverts is badly damaged with loss (see photos). Woods A3(c), Langworth P. 43.
