Description: Published by Chatto and Windus in March 1953, here is the first edition (2nd impression) hardback printing of William Faulkner's REQUIEM FOR A NUN. Blue cloth binding, gilt lettering, 251 pages, the book is in good condition with some light tanning to the cloth edges, some light end paper browning and the name of a previous owner (the revered Oxford scholar Tony Cockshut) written in pencil to the front free end paper. Tony has also made a few light pencil markings to the borders.

The sequel to Faulkner's early novel Sanctuary, Requiem for a Nun follows the previously introduced characters of Temple Drake, her friend (later husband) Gowan Stevens, and Gowan's uncle Gavin Stevens. The events in Requiem are set in Faulkner's fictional Yoknapatawpha County and Jackson, Mississippi, in November 1937 and March 1938, eight years after the events of Sanctuary.
