Light to moderate spine slant/cocking; opens flat with light separation at pp.66-67; slighter separation between other gathering with all holding fine; binding otherwise strong with firm, square hinges. 3/4" long x 1/4" deep patch of scraping to cloth on mid fore edge just below titles; small touches of scraping lower fore edgel light bump upper fore edge. Spine ends softened, bumped corners; central cloth clean and sharp with strong titles. Pages and figures all clean and unmarked. Strong reading copy.

Description: Frontispiece, 3 other full page, plus "in text" illustrations by Gordon Grant. The volume has light ed wear, is bumped on the spine ends, and the text leaves are gently toned. The unclipped dust jacket, priced on the spine, has a mildly sunned spine, is edge rubbed with shallow chips and short closed tears (longest is 1/4"), but there is uneven deeper chipping on the spine crown and rear joint affecting a letter in each of the two title words.
