KHAYYAM, Omar. Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. London Hodder and Stoughton nd (1915), 1915.
Price: US$195.03 + shipping
Description: Early reprint. 22.3 x 28.5 cm russet cloth with gilt stamped titles and decoration to the front and spine, plain endpapers with 20 tipped in plates by Edmund Dulac, each with captioned tissue-guards. The book comes with its original dust jacket. The book has been well protected by the dust jacket and is very good, with just 4 small splits in the cloth at the foot of the spine, a little shelf wear along the bottom edge and slight dulling to the gilt decoration. Internally, there is a bookplate and a little toning to the endpapers. The plates are all present and in fine condition without rubbing, tears or creasing as are the captioned paper guards. The binding is firm and square. The dust jacket is a rare survivor and is mostly complete with a little loss to the spine tips extending to 1.2 cm on the upper joints and minimal loss to the corners. The spine is toned and there are some marks on the rear panel and an ownership name written on the front panel matching the name plate on the front pastedown. All in all a very nice copy. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
