Price: US$25.00 + shipping

Condition: Fair

Description: The 12th book in the Oz series written by Ruth Plumly Thompson carrying on the tradition of the original 14 stories by L. Frank Baum, maintaining the lovely illustrations of artist John R Neill throughout the book's 281 pages; decorative endpapers by same. Orig. published in 1932, this is a slightly later (post-1935) Reilly & Lee reprint, with the NO color plates. Light blue cloth over boards (not the later orange ones), with a vividly colored paper pastedown to front cover & black lettering & design to spineLight blue cloth (fancy publisher script, not plain). Condition is downgraded to only Fair due to external wear: very heavy rubbing to extremities, down to underlying boards in spots. Front pastedown is bright & colorful, with light soil to topmost part. Interior is generally clean, with the occasional smudge. Binding is intact, but both hinges somewhat shaky. Pages creamy white with only very mild tanning. Ownership box blank. NO writing/highlighting/underlining; not ex-lib. Original DJ is long gone, & the exterior of this book leaves much to be desired, but it's one of the scarcer titles& the story & illustrations are superb!
