Description: A heavy, red cloth hardback book, with gilt title impressions on the spine and a decorative circular gilt impression of an elephants head. No jacket. The book is in reasonably good condition, normal wear and marks apply consistent with use and age. The reason its a heavy wee book is the quality and thickness of paper used. 306 + pages all intact, good tight binding, all pages, text and wonderful illustrations are in good, very clean readable order. Gilt edging to top edge of papers. Slight wear to top and base of spine. Inside is a separate cut-out newspaper cutting with black and white image of Pook's Hill (The Times Newspaper dated, November 25th 1932.) Personal pen and ink inscription on second blank page. First published in October 1906, this edition was reprinted in 1914. Just a wonderful book that is without doubt worth preserving for future generations.

Original blue silk ribbon page marker. Moderate browning to boards. Attractive bookplate to front pastedown. No inscriptions. Excellent condition.
