Description: Large octavo, 7 volumes (complete). A crisp, tight, lovely set in the publisher's 3/4 green morocco and green cloth. Top edges gilt, silk ribbons, spine gilt and compartments. Spines somewhat faded to brown (as usual), but still a rather fresh, bright set. Internally unread; quite lovely with the numerous illustrations. Overall near fine. This set is hand-numbered 78, and is one of 500 examples on large paper. There seem to have been a few different bindings, and this is one of the more attractive ones; most of the other examples we found in commerce are bound in more pedestrian cloth. A handsome, well-preserved set.
