Covers are a bit faded; spine appears slightly toned. Paper along edges has chipped, partially revealing boards beneath. Corners as well as head and foot of spine are a bit bumped. Binding remains secure and strong. Deckled pages. Pages are free of marks or tears throughout. A good, readable copy.

Smith was a Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress, a position now called Poet Laureate. A nice association copy, Smith a VT resident, Banyan its most prominent fine press: Banyan and Ewert were among the finest New England small fine presses of their day.
