Price: US$295.00 + shipping

Condition: Very Good

Description: First US edition, very good with no dust jacket. "Indian Tales - 1" at the top of the front board. Just slight wear to the illustrated tan cloth; a small area of light reddish color in a few places on the front board; owner's bookplate on front pastedown. All four corners of boards turned slightly inward, and there is a contemporary news clipping by Thomas Nelson Page about Kipling affixed to the facing page of the title page, which has left an offsetting area of discoloration on the title page. Square and tight, and except for the flaws noted, internally clean. This was Kipling's first book published in the US.
