This is ".an abridged version of Viaggio in Irlanda [that] was translated into English, by Rossi's friend and collaborator Hone, and published by the Yeatsian Cuala Press. Rossi thus became the only Italian author to be included in this collection. Viaggio in Irlanda is a profoundly idiosyncratic book on Ireland and its politics. In his short preface, Hone states: Nothing came amiss to Doctor Rossi, from our games and our horses to our literature and our politics." Hone (1882-1959) was the co-founder of Maunsell [his middle name], the publisher of Yeats and multiple volumes of Irish literature and history. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition, a scarce title. Blue-gray paper-covered boards with a linen spine. Titling in black on the front cover; paper spine label. Clean text; Preface by Hone; 52 pages. The front cover has two small smudges, and the spine label is chipped. In an archival plastic protector. First Edition. Hard Cover.
