Interior complete, generally clean, and in good condition considering the state of the binding. There are occasional smudges and fingerprints at page corners particularly at the front of the book, pretty much ending by the first third of the book. All plates present. Plates include numerous photogravures (photo-gravure) and SIX ORIGINAL ETCHINGS. The etchings are Half Dome View from Moran Point by Thomas Moran; Interior of California Forest by Mary Nimmo Moran; Cathedral Rocks, Yosemite by James Fagan; University of California, Berkeley by George Spiel, After a Good Day's Sport by Stephen J. Description: Very good set in folio hardcovers. Half-leather with raised bands and titles on spine. Gilt on front cover with decorative "C" in California. Some edge-wear and scuffing to leather. Fore-edge corners are worn-through at very tips. Some chipping to top of spine on volume two. Fore-edge pages have some dust-staining. Bindings are square and tight. Illustrations and tissue guards are in great shape. We would be happy to send photos upon request.
