Description: 1898. New Edition. 344 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth covered boards. Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Previous owner's inscription to front free end-paper. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting. Some occasional heavy cracking to gutters throughout however binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Cloth has minor damp and dust stains. Book has a slight forward lean. Minor fraying to cloth at spine ends. Moderate tanning to spine.

Description: First Edition, colonial issue. 24, 344pp., red pebble grain cloth, stamped in black. Covers splashed and spotted, slight red stain from cloth at corner of first few leaves, but a decent copy. A combined edition of the The Red Badge of Courage and The Little Regiment, with an introductory 'Appreciation' by George Wyndham. It sold poorly and many copies - perhaps the majority - were remaindered in this form, cut down and with new preliminaries. There was no American edition.
