Description: Signed by illustrator on frontispiece page. Numbered 1044 of a limited edition of 1540 copies, only 1500 of which were offered for sale upon publication. This is a Fair condition hard cover with no dust jacket. The spine is cracking at the hinges and the fore-edge corners are frayed. The cover has some stains that are actually light colored but show up much more in a photograph. There's a previous owner's name and a date on the front free ednpapers. The endpapers are tanned. partially cracked at the hinge at the rear endpapers, but everything holds just fine. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

Includes 8 full-page color illustrations by Majeska (including frontis) with bounded tissue opposite. Designed by Werner Helmer and printed from type at the Van Rees Press. Black cloth boards with gilt lettering and design along spine. Shelfwear: light scufifng along edges and cover boards, previous owner's inscription opposite limited page, some passages have been underlined, with some notes in the margins. Tightly bound. Volume is in Good condition.
