Description: The cover has bright green cloth with white letters on the spine strip and the front board. The front board has a b/w illustration. 356 pages; 8 glossy plates of b/w illustrations. The white enamel on the margins of the front board's illustration has small, slightly rubbed spots. The bottom 1 1/2 in. of the spine strip has faint soiling. Tipped in is an additional leaf signed by the author and inscribed and dated 1944. Damp stain from page 275 through the rear free endpaper appearing very faint except for a the last 20 pages (see photos). Cover illustration has worn off the green cloth. Binding is solid with relaxed hinges. Very light shelf wear to edges.
