Description: Half yellow buckram gilt and creme buckram sides, large 8vo., xvi, 30 pages, illustrated with wood engravings by Robert Maynard. This Rubaiyat, translated from Persian into Welsh, faced many delays and difficulties in its production, extensively laid out in a chapter of its own in Dorothy Harrop's "History of the Gregynog Press". A very good copy with some moderate soiling and wear to the covers, in archival mylar.

A very good copy indeed, a little toned of spine. Seven wood engravings by Robert Ashwin Maynard, three wood-engraved printer's devices. A finely printed and illustrated Rubaiyat in Welsh translation. Morris-Jones's translation of the Rubaiyat was the first into Welsh, and was originally published in 1907 without illustration. This is the translation's second appearance in book form, and the first to be furnished with illustrations. Potter 523.
