Description: Original publisher's dark blue cloth binding in a light gray-blue paper-covered slipcase. Gilt lettering on front cover and book spine. No lettering on slipcase. Book: 6" x 8." Slipcase: 6 1/4" x 8 1/4." 122 pages, complete. Pages and covers of the book are very clean and intact overall. Binding is tight. Covers have slightly bumped corners, slight rubbing to corners and edges, and darkening along spine. Slipcase is clean and intact overall but has age toning, slight indenting or compressing to the sides, and light to moderate wear to corners and edges. A Near Fine book in a Very Good slipcase. A collection of rhyming poetry by Walter de la Mare (1873-1956), an American author. De la Mare wrote many short stories and poems and a number of novels. De la Mare is perhaps best-known for his literary works for children; his poem, "The Listeners"; and his psychological horror stories. The poems in Peacock Pie are categorized by the following sections: "Up and Down," "Boys and Girls," "Three Queer Tales," "Places and People," "Beasts," "Witches and Fairies," "Earth and Air," and "Songs."
