Glassine jacket has tears along the folds at the top of the spine and the front foldover. Complimentary card from Viking Press laid in. Arthur Miller, Pascal Covici, Jr., Joseph Campbell, and John Steinbeck spoke at the memorial; Saul Bellow and Malcolm Cowley were unable to attend and sent their contributions. Biography of Pascal Covici at end. When the last publishing house to bear his name, Covici-Friede, shut down, Covici went to Viking Press, taking John Steinbeck with him.
