Description: xi, 369pp. 1905. First U.K. edition. A very good, clean, tight copy in original publisher's green cloth. No ex-library. No inscriptions. The gilt to both the spine and the front board bright. Tissue-guarded frontispiece (the tissue well preserved) - a photogravure of the author and ex-U.S. president. A further 48 photographic plates - all as called for. Some spotting (not heavy) to the endpapers - otherwise very scattered and in no way heavy. The head and tail of the spine a little bumped or turned in. A rub or light stain mark to the lower corner of the rear board - roughly triangular in shape measuring 8cm x 6cm x 6cm. A similar mark affecting the gutter of the front joint, the tail of the spine. A similar mark too to the leading edge of the front board and across the front board, but above the gilt embossed vignette. A very good, clean, tight copy
