Our National Parks is the only Muir publication that brings to life Muir’s introduction to and subsequent in-person encounters with eminent American Transcendentalist Ralph Waldo Emerson. This work greatly covers in detail America’s National Parks, his greatest legacy. It is a comprehensive survey of the United State’s parks system, whose current incarnation would never have existed without Muir’s carefully written surveys. Muir recounts his interactions with Emerson, reflecting an effusive admiration from the writer, likening him to the surrounding natural phenomena. A beautiful masterpiece for lovers of natural history.
