Taupe cloth covered boards, front panel has blind-stamped border and with gilt-stamped lettering and stylized heart illustration; gilt lettering on spine. Edges at head and tail of board spine are chipped and fraying. Board panels are lightly soiled and with a few small stains. Fore-edge corner tips are barely rubbed through. Page edges are age-darkened, side edges have several small stains. Previous owner's name on front paste down. Pencil erasure marks on FFEP. Tissue-guard of frontispiece has been outlined and penciled in. Gutter is cracked at pp. 4-5 and 68-69 and back inside hinge is partially cracked, causing text block to be shaken. Stains to side margins on pp. 38-43, most prevalent on pages 39&40. Back paste-down has paper/tape remnants and inked numbers in the upper left corner.
