Description: First UK edition. Red boards with gold spine titling, very good with bumped spine ends. Spine square. Binding sound. Dust jacket very good in Mylar with light general edgewear, small closed tear from top edge of front panel, and very minor chipping to spine ends and fore-edge corners. Prior owner's initials penned to FFEP. Interior else clean, text bright and unmarked.

Description: First UK edition, first impression. Precedes the US edition, which was issued the following year. Original red cloth with lettering to spine in gilt. Some off-setting to endpapers and some spotting to top edge and fore-edge with a couple of instances of compression to spine tips, otherwise excellent. The original and unclipped dust jacket has some moderate edge wear, primarily to the top, and a small nick to bottom corner of lower panel and half-way down the lower panel spine hinge. Some toning to spine panel and verso, better than very good otherwise.

Book fine except for slight cracking on front hinge, previous owners signature on first free end page, stamp from previous book agency, bookplate on front past down, slight fading along edges of inside pages. DJ very good except for chipping on corners, wearing along top and bottom edges, slight chipping on top and bottom spine ends, missing pieces on top edge of spine, fading and discoloration on covers, spine, and inside flaps. DJ has been price clipped.
