Old tide lines at top third of fore-edge (see photo for our best attempt at a close-up). Old staining from pp. 8-14 (see photo). Shelf rubs spine ends and board tips. Upper board fore-edge extends farther than lower board fore-edge, as in an over-bite. GOOD and sound withal. Contains "The Kidnapping of President Lincoln," a story "universally admired" (see COUSINS, JCH Biography, LSU Press, [1968], p. 176), and 4 other stories, all popular in their day, but demonstrating "Harris's lack of battle experience and . . . superficial understanding of military history . . .
