Upper board fore-edge extends farther than lower board fore-edge, as in an over-bite. GOOD and sound withal. Contains "The Kidnapping of President Lincoln," a story "universally admired" (see COUSINS, JCH Biography, LSU Press, [1968], p. 176), and 4 other stories, all popular in their day, but demonstrating "Harris's lack of battle experience and . . . superficial understanding of military history . . . The first is the hilt and portion of a sword with the top portion of a set of wings, the middle rectangle the bottom of the sword in a vertical position and the tip on one wing. The bottom rectangle is blank. The spine is similar with title, author and publisher in gold lettering. The back cover is blank. The spine shows shelf wear and the corners are bumped. Near the bottom of the front cover is a small white blemish. The pages are clean and tight, page edges show light soiling (bottom is very clean. The inside edge of the back cover is scuffed about 1.5 inches long. Pages are sewn.
