Colophon at rear of each volume notes limitation of 200 numbered copies (this #49). Printed for William Andrews Clark, Jr., who writes "Some Observations" on this obscure but fascinating bit of Thomas Gray miscellanea and whose Christmas 1933 "Compliments of" printed slip (8 3/4" X 2 3/4") is tipped to front flyleaf. The first volume bears this and Whibley's capable elaboration, enjoyable explanation of Thomas Rowlandson's frontispiece drawing and the poetry text itself, while the second volume has laid into it the lovely small 4to facsimile of one of the twelve typeset originals, Clark's personal copy. Like all Nash productions wonderfully accomplished using fine paper -- here hand-made Van Golder Zonen stock with special watermark.
