The book itself shows the endpapers lightly toned, one corner lightly bumped, marginal shelf rubbing of the extremities, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text is clean and unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. The dust jacket shows slight edge wear, the spine is lightly toned, a short closed tear of the back panel, otherwise is not price-clipped remaining bright and distinct. As pictured.

Edmund Wilson was an American writer of plays, poems and novels but was most influential as an editor at ?Vanity Fair?, book reviewer at ?The New Yorker?, and respected literary critic. Wilson attended Princeton with F. Scott Fitzgerald who referred to him as his ?intellectual conscience? and his works influenced novelists Upton Sinclaire and Thodore Dreiser among many others.Wilson was selected by John F Kennedy to receive ?The Presidential Medal of Freedom? and was quoted as saying ?Marxism is the opium of the intellectuals? This book contains many of Wilson?s most influential poetic works.
