Very minor wear to jacket extremities, corners tapped, faint offsetting to endpapers, else a Very Good, fresh and sound copy. The first collected appearance of local newspaper articles and sketches composed in the 1850s and 1860s while Whitman was revising "Leaves of Grass." Though the title page date provided is 1936, the advertisement on rear jacket panel to "Buy United States War Bonds and Stamps" indicates this was actually published sometime around 1944. BAL 21475.
