Bound in Oz green cloth with title in gilt on the spine and an illustration stamped in black on the front cover. Corners and spine caps are lightly bumped with a tiny bit of fraying. Top edges tinted yellow. Sepia toned photographs from movie on the endpapers. Pages are clean, smooth and unmarked. The binding is square and firm. Includes the 8 full page color plates by W.W. Denslow in pristine condition as well as many other full page illustrations and in text vignettes in black and white. 208 pages.

Description: The only edition containing the complete original text on which the famous Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Movie is based {from the dust jacket}. This is what is refered to as the movie edition and has endpapers with still photographs from the movie. Latest date on the copyright page is 1903, but this edition was actually published in 1939. Includes 8 color plates and many black and white plates by Denslow, 208 pages. Green cloth with pictorial covers, nice clean copy, bottom corners bumped, former owner's name neatly penned on first blank page, small bookseller label on rear endpaper, no other markings in book. Dust jacket has price of $1.19 intact on front flap. The scarce dj is well worn with large chip at base of spine, worn at edges with many creases and edge tears and some smaller chips at corners, some rubbed areas, but still is presentable in a new protective mylar sleeve.
