One of twenty-five copies, containing John Fowles' essay contributed to the literary magazine 'Mosaic', Volume III Number 4.Signed by the author to page 41.Entitled 'My Recollections of Kafka', ruminating on Kafka's writings and his importance to modern literature in the decades after his death.In the first few lines Fowles admits that he has not read any of Kafka's works since he was at university in Oxford, reflecting on Kafka's importance in his own history as an author, as well as for any contemporary writer.Notably, Fowles points out that 'Kafkaesque' as a term is prominent and oft-repeated, in a way in which other, equally important authors are not honoured.This essay was later reprinted in Fowles' collection 'Wormholes: Essays and Occasional Writings'.
