Covers are a bit grubby from use with a few water marks. Corners and edges lightly bumped, spine is tanned. A couple some marks to page block foot. Foxing to endpapers and to some page edges internally. Text is clear and unmarked, illustrations are bright. AD

The front board is a little warped at its outer edge and has a slight lift. Rubb ing to the corners and spine tips.Some dust spotting to the edges of t he cloth. Tanning to the spine. The interior has some scattered dust s potting and foxing to the preliminary pages. The plates are all in Fin e condition.

Attractive coloured wedding gift card pasted to front end-paper. A fair amount of foxing but the plates themselves are either clean or only a little affected. Vol. II,pp.xv,40. Frontispiece and 11 colour plates + 9 black and white sketches. A little marked on front cover. Neat gift inscription on front end-paper. One or two spots of foxing to early pages but overall a very clean copy.

Description: A set of twelve color plates, (each image approx. 4 3/4" x 6 7/8") , mounted on stiff cream paper, (measuring 12 1/2" x 10") and signed in pencil by the artist to lower margin, loosely contained in later maroon cloth portfolio with ties, 4to. Each print with publisher's printed title label to reverse comprising: The Buccleuch (The Hunting Gate) , The Pytchley (The R101) , The South Notts (Stopping the Hounds) , The Meath (At Tara) , The South Devon (Eagle Rock) , In 'Beaufortshire' (Whitewell Woods) , The Bedale (Marriforth Whin) , "Discipline" (Stopping the 'Tufters' off a Hind) , Unemployed (Hunters at Exercise in the Snow) , The Portman (Okeford Hill) , The Hursley (Snow on the Downs) , and The Brothers Johnson. A couple of the mounts have small creases to the corners but they are otherwise about fine. The cloth portfolio is worn and frayed along the spine. The corners are also worn with boards showing.
