Description: The First UK printing published by Faber and Faber, London in 1935 (The first complete edition, having been slightly preceded by an acting edition). The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Some light spotting to the blank end-papers and a little toning to the text-block. Free from inscriptions. Some pages remain uncut. A very small tear to the lower edge of pages 7 and 9 which is likely to have been a production fault in the cutting of the pages. The WRAPPER is complete and is in exceptional condition. Just a a hint of toning to the spine. The red colouring to the spine remains unfaded. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page. The book is housed in a custom solander box with marbled inserts, gilt titling and a silk tie. A very sharp copy.
