Description: AGATHA CHRISTIE - MR. PARKER PYNE DETECTIVE (published in the U.K. as "Parker Pyne Investigates"), published by Dodd Mead, copyright 1933 (copyright of the individual stories which were published in magazines), 1934 First Printing per date on title page (no references to subsequent printings on copyright page - there was never a 2nd Dodd Mead printing), lists to "Murder in the Calais Coach" on list of Christie books to pre-title page, red badge illustrated endpapers, orange cloth boards with black lettering to spine and front panel, $2.00 price on DJ front flap. ONE OF THE RARER 1930s AGATHA CHRISTIE BOOKS. Book has no creased page corners (bump mark to last few top right page corners), no former ownership markings or used bookstore stamps inside, no foxing to pages or endpapers or outer page edges, orange top stain is nice without drop spots (very slight fading only), barest hint of dust soiling to outer page edges which are still white (no age darkening), clean endpapers with no soiling or staining, no splitting to internal hinges (common defect with these early Dodd Mead books), no spine lean, no wear to board edges or board corners, or to spine tips (hint of shelf rubbing to bottom spine tip), no spine sun fading (common defect with this book - even with the original dust jacket), no rubbing to spine lettering, no handling/dust soiling to boards, no soiling or discoloration to boards, tiny bump along bottom edge to rear board, bumped board rear corner. Dust jacket has irregular chipping at spine tips, wear to flap creases (large nick losses at flap crease corners), hint of edge wear, very slight spine sun fadening, almost no wear to left/right on spine, no color rubbing to front panel, slight dust rubbing/age yellowing to off-white portion of rear panel, no soiling or staining. Overall a FINE-/N-FINE book in VG-/VG condition dust jacket (not price clipped) of a rare early 1930s era Agatha Christie 1st printing.
