Description: 1924. First Edition. 79 pages. No dust jacket. Pictorial paper covered boards. Contains typed copies - tucked into title page - of rare poem written by Siegfried Sassoon and sent to author from the former's hospital bed. Severe cracking to front hinge and gutters. Binding is fragile, however pages remain attached. Rough-cut edges with uncut pages throughout. Light tanning and foxing throughout, more pronounced towards the start and end of the book. Pencil inscriptions to front endpaper and pastedown. Faint black markings throughout, text is unaffected. Boards have heavy edge wear with bottom right corner of front board missing. Spine strip is completely missing. Noticeable marks and scratches overall. Scuffing to edges and corners. Inserts have noticeable edge wear with creasing and chipping. Faint black markings with tearing to folds.
