This is a first printing, first edition with the letter 'A' on the copyright page. Blue cloth covered boards with yellow text and illustration. Very light wear to corners, top and bottom of spine. Colored endpages. Birthday greeting dated January 30, 1948 on the half title page. Name of previous owner written between the title letters on the title page. Illustrations by Wesley Dennis. A few are in color. A nice first edition in above average condition, lacking the dust jacket.

DUST JACKET: Priced 2.50 on the front flap. Some type of bug apparently got to the jacket and left small holes in flap creases and color loss to paper surface, still a relatively attractive jacket in a protective cover. BOOK CONDITION: The book is very good with sharp corners and bright lettering and decorations on very clean covers. The binding is tight and the interior is very clean and unmarked.
