Containing the first and second Mister Tootleoobooks for children written by Bernard Darwin and illustrated by his wife Elinor Darwin in one volume, first edition thus. With black and white illustrations in text.The original tales were published separately in 1925 and 1927 with colourful illustrations, true first editions went out of print. In the original publisher's binding over paper covered boards. Externally sound with minor shelf wear, lightly chipped to spine and along the joints, boards marked. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to first and last few leaves particularly, otherwise pages generally very clean throughout. Good

The contents are in good order with finger & other minor marks to some pages. The covers are quite grubby & spotted, the front more so than the back. Overall a nice copy of an uncommon Darwin item - The Tale of Mister Tootleoo was first published in 1925 and Tootleoo Two in 1927 (see my other listing fir a copy of the latter) and this is the combined volume published in 1932
