The jacket has speckly stains on the front, some mild edge wear, and a lightly tanned spine, but is essentially intact. Richard Meinertzhagen (1878-1967) was a British intelligence officer and ornithologist influential in the formation of the modern state of Israel. Though once regarded as a military hero, many of his claims of heroism, as well as his purported ornithological discoveries, have been called into doubt or refuted.
