Six beautiful full color illustrations. The inside of this book is in perfect condition with nary a mark of wrinkle. the hinges are strong and fully attached. Unusual for a childrens book of this age. This first and only edition was issued to commemorate their ground breaking "Silly Symphony" cartoon. 212 pages.

The book is fair condition. 3 1/2 inch piece of spine strip along the bottom is gone and a 2 inch piece is missing from top spine strip. The corners are bumped. Two gift inscriptions on front fly page. The dust jacket is in poor condition with many tape repairs and the front dust jacket flap is missing. Considering all that the interior is clean and tight. All the color illustrations are present and in very good condition. The price reflects the condition. 123 pages. This is the Whitman Publishing edition which is the true first edition.

Several pages have evidence of moisture exposure at top, fore-edge corner and bottom edge. Otherwise good.

There is another, lighter stain to the lower page edges, at the spine. This also does not intrude into the pages. There are no names or bookplates. There are some erased penciling to the front cover. Illustrated with 6 splendid color plates and numerous other black and white drawings and full-page plates by the Disney Studios. A lovely copy in the original sewn binding and gloriously crisp colored front boards depicting Midas chomping on an 18C chicken. Very tight and crisp with a faint crease along the spine. The poor quality paper is heavy stock but high in acid content; hence, the uniform browning to the text pages and the black and white full-page illustrations. The 6 full-page color plates are not affected in this way. In the scarce original dustjacket which is heavily edge-rubbed and lightly soiled on the rear panel. Light creases and a short closed tear at the bottom corner of the front panel of the jacket. First Edition. With "Copyright 1937 by Walt Disney Enterprises Hollywood, Calif." and "Printed in U.S.A." on the copyright page.

Description: In the publisher's pictorial paper-covered boards backed in tan cloth. The boards are bright and show little wear. The dustjacket is present and has quite a bit of shelfwear, especially to the extremities of the spine. The textblock was loose and has been consolidated, and the front hinge has been quite discreetly reglued. The textblock has darkened a bit, with some very scattered foxing. Illustrated in black and white and in color. Ther are no marks in the book. Overall a presentable copy with the dustjacket. Mylar has been cut to protect the binding. Very Good binding / Good dust jacket.

Some wear to extremities of the boards including a little to the base and crown of the spine; wear to the jacket extremities including some creasing to extremities and a few short closed tears; usual aging to pages; no previous owner's marks of any kind. Overall a bright, clean copy. Scarce in original dustjacket. Protected in a Brodart cover.

Description: 4to. 24 by 21.5 cm. 22 pp., plus content on both inside wrap covers. 16 color illustrations, including front and rear cover. Three of the illustrations are full page, and one or two others are nearly so. Besides Mickey and Minnie, other quintessential and beloved Disney characters make appearances, including Donald Duck, Pluto and Goof. Surprisingly scarce, with no institutional copies found on OCLC First Search, and none on ABE on the date we are writing this description. Condition: pages are heavily toned, but this is a function of the cheap pulp paper used by Whitman and surely a feature of any surviving copies. There are a few minor closed tears, a tiny corner chip to a few pages, and the like -- all this a consequence of the brittle paper, and we believe on the light side for this book. Stiff wraps (heavy-ish card) have a few flattened crease marks, and rear cover has a small corner chip, not disconcerting, in our view.
