Pages are lightly tanned and foxed throughout. Occasional thumb-marking present. Cracking to gutters of a few pages with exposed binding. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper and rear pastedown. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Scuffing and light marking overall. Mild tanning to spine and edges. Book has a slight forward lean.

A loose page appears to be a frontispiece or loose picture page.

A few pages are uncut, thus unread. Boards have been moderately rub worn. Noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed Spine ends are crushed, with noticeable splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Description: Internally well-preserved, mostly clean and clear with bold black & white image plates free from any notable signs of damage or wear. Endpapers and some occasional pages bear some foxing, and pages are roughly cut throughout. Covers are firm, secure, and well-preserved but slightly bowed and bearing a small knock to the top of the spine. Dust Jacket is damaged, bearing significant foxing, and a large section torn away from the top of the spine. Several other smaller creases and tears have been repaired and reinforced with preservation tape, giving a more presentable appearance. Why on Amazon do most sellers not describe their actual book?
