Illustrated with eight illustrations from original drawings and water colors by the author, executed in linoleum blocks by Mallette Dean. First Edition/First Printing. Bound in 1/4 brown cloth with paper covered cloth boards (this is unusual since it was always bound in green cloth) with gilt titles presnt to the spine. Boards have light shelf-wear present present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Henry Miller, in this essay springing from "The Maurizius Case" by Jacob Wassermann (published in 1929) , has given us a melange of philosophy, history, justice, and a critique of civilized society; incredibly thought-provoking, a must-read for anyone interested in the concept of justice on this earth.
