Description: Volume 1 only. Book is square. Binding is tight but the front and back hinges have been reinforced with binding tape. Contents are generally clean throughout but there are a few pages with food stains from someone using the recipes. Cover boards are in fair shape. Dust jacket is in good shape but the colors are faded along the spine. Former library book with usual library stamps, labels, tape stains and markings.

Description: Twentieth printing. Pp xv, 684, xxxii. Index. Illustrated. An attractive, well-loved and cared for copy with some signs of use. The boards are blue and red pattern on white, with a turquoise blue, white and red jacket. Now in a new archival clear removable cover there is the lingering evidence of cellophane tape stain on both covers and the shadow tone on the free end papers, first and last. The dust jacket is just slightly edge worn, the spine strip is lightly faded the publisher red stain is faded and spotted. The board edges are just lightly worn but the corners are bumped and there is considerable edge soil and edge spotting. Pages 41-50 (chapter one, soups) are heavily stained from use, the rest of the book is without markings or soil. ; 8vo
