Description: Boards are a lovely woven blue cloth with a handmade paper pastedown title "Frisson" Lafcadio Hearn. The boards are a bit faded, otherwise book is near mint. Passages come from "Two Years in the French West Indies" by Hearn. The 19 illustrations by Macauley, 11 with color, are wonderful! This copy is inscribed by Mr. Macauley to a personal acquaintance. In part the inscription reads "I remember bringing these insignificant sketches to you for your comment. The sketches are terrible, but I'm rather proud of my choice of descritive passages by Hearn." Dated December 19, 1962. Christmas card & memo "From the desk of---T.R.(Bob) Macauley laid in. Extremely scarce.
