Description: First printing. Volumes 1 and 2 only of the three-volume set. Tan cloth with brown floral decoration and gilt spine lettering. Moderate shelfwear with frayed spine ends. The spines are a bit darkened. Previous owner's name, dated 1882, is written on both front free endpapers, along with that of a later owner. Vol 1 has a gutter crack at pg. 273. Both volumes have short tears in the cloth at the rear joints. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

Description: In 3 Volumes, all good plus, first edition books, no dust jackets. Orange-tan cloth covered boards with black floral illustrations stamped on front and back panels and spine; gilt lettering stamped on spine. Boards are soiled overall and with some stains, more so on spines. Spine and edge extremities are sunned. Edges at head and tail of board spine are crimped, with some small splits and fraying. Fore-edge corners are rubbed through at the tips. Numerous small bumps along board edges. Vol III has a diagonal crease across the lower half of front panel.External page edges are age-soiled and darkened. Pale yellow coated end papers; damp stains on end-papers of Vol I & II. All books include half-title pages: The half-title page on Vol I has several repairs, and Vol III's has a small tap. Foxing on several of the first and last pages in each book, else text pages are clean. Text blocks of Vol II & III are relatively snug. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition description. Additional photos available at your request.
