Description: 1926. First Edition. 320 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt lettering. Inscription to front endpaper. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Light tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed.Book has a forward lean.

Description: First UK edition. Originally published in the US by Harcourt, Brace & Company in 1926. Fraying at the top and bottom of the spine which is a little darkened. Some discolouration to the boards along the top and fore edges. Spine lean. Page edges browned with some scattered spotting. Endpapers heavily browned Light spotting to the succeeding pages and there are brown spots in a number of places through the book. No jacket. First printing.

Description: Cloth, dj, G/P. 320pp, cloth a little worn at the edges with the spine a trifle faded, small scratch to the cloth at the base of the spine, trace to the pastedown where a bookplate has been removed, laid in is the front panel & spine from the dustjacket which are complete but trimmed along the edges, a nice copy. A novel by the Nobel winning American author Sinclair Lewis [ 1885 - 1951 ] concerning a mans need to escape his stressful job by touring along the Mantrap River in Canada. Despite poor reviews the novel was filmed in 1926, the film staring Clara Bow. 450 grams.
