Description: This is a stated "First Trade Edition March, 1957" after the signed limited edition of December 1956. The book is bound in red cloth with illustration of Madeline and Pepito,"the Bad Hat", stamped in black on the front cover. Covers have a small stained area on the top of the covers that is most noticeable on the back cover. Corners and spine caps are lightly bumped with fraying just starting. Endpapers illustrated with a scene along the Seine. There is a light foxing on the preliminary pages and on the last free endpaper. Sprinkling of light foxing there after, on pages throughout the book and the text and illustrations are generally clear, clean, bright and unmarked, with no tears or signs of damp. The dust jacket is in good condition with stain marks corresponding to those on the covers, chips of missing paper at the ends of the spine panels and smaller tears and chips on the edges.The original price-"$3.50" is on the front flap. An exciting story with delightful and charming full color illustrations set in Paris.
