Colour pictures by the author throughout. Very good indeed in slightly used, complete, very good dust jacket, with tape enforcements and slight marks from tape on inside flaps and pastedowns.

Description: The book is in good condition with some rubbing to edges of boards along the top and bottom and to top and bottom of spine. One page has become detached and has been repaired with sellotape by previous owner, see pictures, the sellotape repair is itself failing. The next page has some marking along spine from sellotape which is no longer there.Illustrations are bright throughout, there are some light and occasional marks on the pages. Some discolouration and marks to end papers.Dust jacket is in acceptable condition in protective wrapper. Some chipping along top edge. Closed four inch tear to top right and closed two inch tear to top left of dust jacket. Rubbing to spine. Loss to top right rear of dust jacket, see picture. Loss to bottom right corner of dust jacket, see picture. Rubbing to top of letter A on title front of dust jacket.

Tips worn, else Fine in Near Fine dust jacket, unclipped (12s. 6 d.), with two closed tears in front panel, light wear, rubbing to back panel. An attractive copy. The first book in the beloved children's series by the Austrian-American author and illustrator Ludwig Bemelmans. This British edition followed the American by 13 years and is much more uncommon.
