Front board detached; frontis, tissue guard and title heavily foxed & tanned; the first full page plate engraving 'Mitchell' is very foxed; plate 13 stained; the rest of the plates appear for the most part clean; newspaper clippings attached to endpapers including Anderson's obituary; two plus columns on an Exhibition of American Wood Engravings at the Lenox Library, (Oct.,1902 according to an appended pen note at top of article); and a well annotated bookseller's catalog entry for the book, noted as 'Very Scarce'. Useful perhaps as a binding or reference copy.
