Illustrated throughout in line and colour. Originally published in 1937, this story tells of a little girl befriended by an old man in the park. The original version of the tale was criticised for the suggestion that the little girl made friends with a strange man met in a park, in this new version we are told that Mr Grimes is an old family friend.

Cover: paper covered boards to match dust jacket; very bright and clean; few visible signs of shelf wear. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; no markings, inscriptions or book plates; slightest darkening to page edges; otherwise in excellent condition.
