"The poems here translated are in the main of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and correspond in time to the lyrics of the Elizabethan, Jacobean and Caroline poets in English" [from Flower's Preface].This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition which was LIMITED to 500 copies. Not a common book.Light blue-gray paper-covered boards with a linen spine; titled in black on the front cover and a paper spine label. Clean text; 35 pages. A previous-owner has noted in pencil on the second free endpaper the purchase from Sotheby's in 1943 Endpapers have some offset; linen spine is a bit darkened, and there is some sunfase around the margins. In an archival plastic protector. Limited. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
