Faded on spine, very lightly rubbed along edges, previous owner's inscription and date (1901) in ink and light pencil erasure mark on ffep, chip out of lower corner of ffep, corner folded over on page 85, transfer of print on page 97, illustration on page 119 pulled away (1 inch) at top of hinge, tear (1/8 inch) on bottom of page 127, illustration at page 167 loose but still attached at top, illustration at page 315 separated, piece (1 inch) missing from top inner edge and top edge smudged and lightly chipped. Occasional light smudging. Overall, very good minus. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

Previous owner has placed address label in bottom lefthand corner of paste down endpaper on back cover. All other pages are clean with deckle edges. Green cloth binding with gilt titles on spine and front cover, and gilt border on front cover. Front cover also has monochrome illustration of a forest and wildlife, while back cover features an illustration of two birds on a branch. Spine has faded; bottom corners are lightly bumped. FINE.
